We were commissioned the rehabilitation design and extension of a traditional building in Oporto and its conversion into a hostel for urban tourism aimed at the foreign visitor. The client coming from international flights is well informed today when choosing accommodation. The project of our architects was based on a strategy aimed for maximum confort and monetization of available space by placing as many accommodation units as possible. Licensing was quickly approved by the Porto City Council. With the commercial name of “guest house” the space is directed to a more demanding client, having a reduced number of rooms in a ward and a majority of spaces with double rooms. An elegant and comfortable space is born from the confrontation between modernity and heritage.

The architectural design strategy
Our architects’ project was based on a strategy of maximum profitability of the available space through the placement of as many accommodation units as possible. Porto City Council approved licensing as local accommodation. With the commercial name “Boavista Class Inn”, we target the space towards a more demanding client. Thus, having a reduced number of dorm rooms and a majority of spaces with double rooms. An elegant and comfortable space is born from the confrontation between modernity and heritage.
